Wayne Jeschke’s black and white gelatin silverprint captures one of the many natural amphitheaters at Dinosaur Provincial Park. The Park that was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (U.N.E.S.C.O) in 1979 captures the essence of the Canadian Badlands – an area where sea deposits sculpted by glaciation and years of erosion from wind and rain have formed a landscape of coulees and hoodoos. The photograph showcases the large mushroom shaped rocks formed by the erosion of layers of volcanic ash, and the deep lines in the rock strata from snow melt and water runoff.
