For years, the Düsseldorf City Museum struggled to organize an exhibition in honor of Jewish art dealer Max Stern, who escaped Germany during WWII and settled in Montréal, becoming one of Canada’s leading art dealers. Planned for 2018, it was not held until 2021, having been delayed by discussions around the world by lawyers, curators, politicians, and Jewish groups on the restitution of art looted by the Nazis.
A special video Q&A with the film’s acclaimed director, Jamie Kastner (There Are No Fakes, The Skyjacker’s Tale), will take place after the film screening.
