In recognition of Orange Shirt Day, and in the name of Truth and Reconciliation, and the creation of an inclusive, safe space, TELUS World of Science — Edmonton is providing FREE Science Centre General Admission for Indigenous guests* on September 30 and gives you the opportunity to participate in the following special events:

Tipi raising (free outdoor activity) | 8AM

Lighting of the Qulliq*** | 10AM

Performance by Inuit throat singers Jana Angulalik and Jenna Broomfield | 10AM

Indigenous Vendors Market | 10AM — 4PM

Moment of Silence | 10:30AM

Indigenous-focused activities throughout the Science Centre | 11AM — 5PM

* Excludes IMAX® films and evening laser shows.

** Schedule subject to change.

*** A qulliq is the traditional oil lamp used by Arctic peoples, including the Inuit. It is made of soapstone in a rounded shape and traditionally uses the oil blubber from seals or whales as fuel and arctic cotton grass as the wick.
