We are thrilled to present Mhairi Berg’s Morningside Road, with music and lyrics by Mhairi Berg and Simon Abbott. We had a sneak peak of this charming musical at our 2023 Fringe Script Tease. Since the Fringe, this piece has been expanded, and we are the first to hear the full-length version! See you there!

This SCRIPT SALON will be held on Sunday, November 10th at 7:30PM in the Upper Arts Space at Holy Trinity Anglican Church (10037 84 Avenue). Doors open at 7PM. SCRIPT SALON presents on the SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH unless otherwise noted.

In this Celtic-inspired musical, a Canadian girl, captivated by her granny’s wartime tales, pursues a life of passion and truth and grapples with shifting memories as her granny’s dementia blurs the line between reality and storytelling.

Directed by Kate Ryan. Readers include Mhairi Berg and Maureen Rooney.

Mhairi Berg is a graduate of MacEwan’s Theatre Arts Program and holds an MA in Music Theatre Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is a Sterling Award Nominee for her original musical Morningside Road, which debuted at 2023 Fringe, and a Sterling Award Recipient (original score) for Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play (Blarney Productions/​You Are Here Theatre). Apart from her writing, Mhairi is also active as a performer, director, and choreographer.
