About
Gallery@501 is excited to present two new exhibitions this fall, “Sacred Patterns” by a local Ojibway artist from the Pic River First Nation, Jessica Desmoulin and “Translations of Han” by Toronto artist mihyun maria kim. These two very diverse exhibits have a common theme – how interconnected life is.
“Sacred Patterns” is a collection of paintings inspired by the patterns and colours in nature by local artist Jessica Desmoulin. Working intuitively, Desmoulin paints animals, birds and aquatic life in a Woodland style that reflects her family and loved ones. She finds connection and spiritual guidance in the imagery and creates a feeling of rhythm and healing in her work. Desmoulin is represented by the Bearclaw Gallery in Edmonton.
Join the artists for a free public reception at Gallery@501 on Thursday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. Both artists will be at the reception and will each give a short artists talk. In addition, mihyun maria kim will be doing a short engaging performance to activate her works. \
