Pysanky for Peace

@ Kingsway Mall

Apr 11 - May 5 2025

Kingsway Mall has once again partnered with Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) for the fourth annual Pysanky for Peace Exhibit in support of Ukrainian newcomers and artists. The installation pays homage to the Ukrainian Easter tradition of painting Pysanky, carefully decorated eggs featuring intricate designs in a variety of styles and colours. Suspended from the ceiling near Entrance 8, the eggs form a breathtaking aerial installation. All twelve eggs are hand painted by female artists that have fled the war in Ukraine and arrive in Edmonton. Kingsway is pleased to be bringing this tradition to Edmonton once again as a sign of support to Ukraine and Ukrainians who have made Kingsway home over the past three years.

In keeping with Kingsway’s ongoing commitment to support the local community, the pysanky will be given to ACUA after the exhibit to sell, with 100% of proceeds going to support their efforts.

The exhibition will run until Monday, May 5th2025.
