La Lyra

The New Year for the Alberta Baroque Ensemble begins on February 2, 2025, with Telemann’s orchestral suite La Lyra. The title of this suite refers to the hurdy-gurdy movement in this work. Compositions by Veracini and Marcello will also be performed and the Concerto for Violin and Cello featuring Joanna Ciapka — violin and Ronda Metszies — cello will complete the concert. Program includes: Marcello Concerto in D Major ​“La Cetra” Veracini Ouverture in G Minor Vivaldi Concerto for Violin and Cello in B Flat Major Telemann Suite in E Flat Major ​“La Lyra” Joanna Ciapka – Violin; Ronda Metszies – Cello.
