Music Fundraiser

GEDfest

@ Midway Music Hall // 7:00 pm

Ticketed Event

GEDfest celebrates the legendary frontman of The Tragically Hip Gord Downie’s legacy of national unity, using the music that brought Canadians together to now raise funds for cancer research. Since it began seven years ago in Calgary, GEDfest has raised over $250,000 for cancer research, and this year, we’re expanding to Edmonton and Kelowna.

More than a concert, this event unites communities across Canada in Gord Downie’s memory while raising funds for two local causes: the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Ben Stelter Foundation. With a goal of $50,000 this year, GEDfest aims to support Albertans battling cancer.

This story touches on Canadian identity, music, and philanthropy — a compelling tribute to the impact of Gord Downie.

GEDfest YEG is on October 19, at Midway Music Hall, and will feature a live performance from The Tragically Hip Tribute Band, Hipnautical. Also performing that evening are local artists the Whale and the Wolf and Blues at 11. Doors are at 6PM with the show starting at 7PM.
