Free Skate Rentals at City Hall Plaza

With the arrival of frostier temperatures, the Edmonton Arts Council is welcoming back free skate rentals starting on December 15, 2024. 

Winter City Weekends will also be returning the first weekend of January 2025 with Ice Grooves and Swing n’ Skate! (We’ll share more details on Winter City Weekends soon.)

Free Skate Rentals

Ready to get on the ice? The Edmonton Arts Council will be at the City Hall Plaza offering free skate rentals all week long:

• Monday — Friday, rentals from 5:00 — 9:00 PM
• Saturday, rentals from 12:00 — 9:00 PM
• Sunday, rentals from 12:00 — 5:00 PM

• December 27 — January 3, rentals from 12:00 — 9:00 PM (except December 31)
• December 31, rentals from 6:00 PM — 12:00 AM (Midnight)
• Rentals will not be available on December 25, 26, & January 1

* Please note that skate rentals will be available on a first come, first served basis, and that rentals and ice conditions are weather dependent (not available during extreme cold or slushy conditions).
