Edmonton Winds presents Pipe Dreams and Premieres

Edmonton Winds are thrilled to present the first concert of their 2024 – 2025 season, Pipe Dreams and Premieres on November 17. The concert will be held at the Myer Horowitz Theatre (University of Alberta, 8900 114 St) at 2 pm.

Pipe Dreams and Premieres will feature legendary flautist, Jim Walker performing a new arrangement of Edmonton composer, Allan Gilliland’s ​‘Pipe Dreams’. The concert will also host serveral premieres, including two pieces composed by Edmonton Winds’ band members: Joe Semple’s ​‘The Banks of the Rideau’; and ​‘The Knight of the Sorrowful Face’ by Sean Bumstead. ​‘The War of Wind and Stone’ by Schubert Hernando, winner of the Edmonton Winds composition competition, will also be performed for the first time.
