About
Welcome to Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival, Edmonton’s first festival of the year!
On January 18 and 19, 2025, embrace the spirit of “Barnyard Blitz!” Dive into Alberta’s agricultural roots with a community celebration like no other.
Celebrate the diverse cultures of Alberta Avenue District — Ukrainian, French Canadian, Franco African, Indigenous (Métis, Inuit, First Nations), Latin American, and Asian — through art, performances, and delicious treats. Explore Pipon Village for snowshoeing, bannock by the fire, and cultural storytelling. Plus, enjoy Deep Freezer Races, axe-throwing, street hockey, and whimsical ice sculptures!
A heartfelt thanks to our amazing staff, volunteers, and community for making this festival possible. Join us for a weekend of winter magic, barnyard fun, and celebration at the 2025 Deep Freeze Festival!
