CSO: THIS IS WHAT DIVERSITY SOUNDS LIKE
The Concordia Symphony Orchestra is shaking up old symphonic traditions bringing a bold selection of repertoire that meshes together music cultures from the four corners of the world. From the Middle Eastern “Oud”, the Asian “Guzheng” or, the South American “cavaquinho” — diverse sound environments and music styles are welcomed into the orchestra ranks opening a fresh concept in music-making. CSO is proud to embrace and promote Global Cultural Awareness in all our performances and to challenge our musicians and audiences to broaden their tastes with a mixture of genres.
The Concordia Symphony Orchestra is a premier community orchestra based in Edmonton hosted by the Concordia University of Edmonton and led by conductor Danielle Lisboa. Parallel to its regular concert season, the orchestra also presents a Chamber Music Series performed by members of the Concordia Chamber Nucleus in a wide range of repertoire styles.
