On February 8, 2025, the Pendennis Building in Downtown Edmonton transforms into a vibrant space of history, identity, and empowerment. This year’s theme, ​“Roots in the Diaspora,” is an invitation to honour the past, celebrate the present, and envision a future rooted in resilience and pride.

Roots in Diaspora is a celebration of the stories, achievements, and contributions that shape Alberta’s Black community. It’s a space to connect, reflect, and be inspired by the power of shared heritage.
