welcome - Edmonton Arts Council

Bringing arts into the community.

The artist-in-residence program embeds local artists into different areas in Edmonton to engage with the community - be it employees and visitors at the City Clerk's office or the Edmonton Mennonite Centre For Newcomers.

This artist-in-residence initiative is sponsored by the Edmonton Arts Council. The organizing committee includes representatives from the Edmonton Arts Council, the City of Edmonton and the arts community at large. If you would like to host an artist-in-residence, please contact Grants, Awards & Support Programs Director Stephen Williams (swilliams@edmontonarts.ca / 780.424.2787, ext. 225).

Current artist-in-residence opportunity

The Edmonton Arts Council is inviting artists residing in Edmonton to submit an expression of interest to become an artist-in-residence hosted by the Gateway Association.

Gateway is a family and employment resource centre that provides education, support, mentorship and inclusive employment for people who live with disabilities so they can live fully authentic lives. Gateway envisions a community where all children grow within a family; all children learn together in neighbourhood schools; all adults work at real jobs in the community; all adults have real homes and real friends; and all people are valued, contributing members of their communities.

The successful artist will commence duties in the fall of 2019, for an anticipated six-month period (terms negotiable/flexible).

Please respond with the noted cover letter, proposal and appropriate support material by October 14, 2019 to info@edmontonarts.ca.

Access is a priority to Gateway and the Edmonton Arts Council. Please let us know if you require any accommodations.
