Pop-up Art Installation with Artists Caitlind Brown & Wayne Garrett

Butler Memorial Park pop-up art installation

On October 23rd and 24th, artists Caitlind Brown & Wayne Garrett are installing a pop-up art installation in Butler Memorial Park as research for a whimsical sound-based project with the Edmonton Arts Council.

You are invited to drop-in and participate in a playful game of telephone tag! Six landline-style telephones will be scattered throughout the park. Visitors are invited to pick-up the phones and initiate short-distance conversations with other park users. Maybe you'll talk to a friend or meet someone new you never thought you'd talk to. The phones are not as they seem! Part retro telephone experience, part commentary on socially-distancing, and part playful exchange between strangers, join us for this experimental park activation!

When: Saturday, Oct 23, 3 PM to 8 PM, and Sunday, Oct 24, 10 AM to 3 PM

Sir Winston Churchill Square and the Civic Precinct will be impacted by Valley Line LRT construction. Access to businesses on the Square will be maintained during construction. For your safety, please obey posted signs.
